This refined sugar free whipped cream is a delicious way to dress up pancakes, French toast, and waffles for special occasions. Or use it to top fresh fruit, pies, cakes, and other desserts.
This whipped cream is sweetened with date paste and doesn’t contain any added sugar, which makes it a more nutrient dense alternative to traditional whipped cream.
Refined Sugar Free Whipped Cream – Main Ingredients
This easy recipe calls for just three ingredients: 35% cream, pure vanilla extract, and date paste.
Date paste is a natural sweetener made from dates that have been soaked in water, then blended to a smooth purée consistency. See my date puree recipe for exact instructions. You can substitute maple syrup or honey instead of date paste in this recipe if you prefer.
This recipe calls for pure vanilla extract which adds a lovely floral flavour that complements the richness of the heavy cream. Be sure to use pure vanilla extract as opposed to artificial vanilla flavour if possible. Or substitute fresh vanilla beans scraped out of a vanilla pod if you have one.
Optional Additions
You can add a couple of teaspoons of cocoa powder to this recipe to turn it into chocolate whipped cream if desired. Or add a teaspoon of cinnamon or pumpkin spice for a delicious fall themed dessert topping.
You can make this refined sugar free whipped cream in advance and store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or in the freezer for up to six months.
