Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies

Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies - Dairy Free Option

Gluten free chocolate brownies could fool anyone into thinking they were made using refined sugar. These are so rich and chocolaty and decadent. I used date paste instead of refined sugar in this recipe and since date paste has a naturally gooey texture and caramely flavour, it lends itself really well to brownie recipes.

For an extra special occasion you could drizzle some of my date paste caramel sauce  on top of these gluten free chocolate brownies or add a dollop of refined sugar free whipped cream on top of the brownies.

It took me a while to figure out the ingredient amounts and cooking time for this gluten free chocolate brownies recipe but it was well worth the effort. Not only are these brownies free of refined sugar, they don’t contain any white flour either so they really are a guilt-free treat.

I tend to bake with oat flour because it’s higher in protein than most flours and contains more fiber, so it is certainly a healthier choice when compared with white flour, but you can substitute the oat flour for any other flour you like. I think whole wheat flour or almond flour would be good alternatives in this gluten free chocolate brownies recipe.

If you’d prefer a dairy free brownies recipe this one is easily adapted, just swap the melted butter for oil (extra virgin olive oil is always my top choice, whether I’m making something savoury or sweet!).
