Chocolate Covered Dried Cherries Recipe

These chocolate covered dried cherries are an easy, delicious addition to any dessert table. They also make great homemade Christmas or Valentine's Day gifts.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Optional topping: finely chopped almonds

Instructions

  • Add the dark chocolate chips to a pot on the stove set to low heat.
  • Stir constantly until the chocolate has melted, then immediately remove from the heat.
  • Add the dried cherries to the pot of melted chocolate, then stir to evenly coat them with chocolate.
  • Use a spoon to scoop up 5-6 melted chocolate coated dried cherries, then use a second spoon to gently drop them into a cluster onto a plate lined with parchment paper.
  • Repeat with the rest of the dried cherries.
  • Place the plate in the fridge to allow the chocolate to harden for at least 45 minutes before serving.
  • Optional topping step: sprinkle finely chopped almonds on top of the chocolate cherry clusters before placing them in the fridge to harden.

Notes

  • Store these chocolate covered dried cherries in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
