Microwave safe bowl
- 24 walnut halves
- 3/4 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips
Add the chocolate to a microwave safe bowl, then cook on high power for 20 seconds.
Stir then cook for another 20 seconds. Repeat this process until the chocolate has melted (this takes about a minute total in my microwave). Alternatively you can melt the chocolate in a pot on the stove set to low heat, stirring constantly until melted.
Drop one walnut half into the bowl of melted chocolate, then use a spoon to gently stir to evenly coat it in chocolate.
Use two forks to lift the walnut half out of the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back down into the bowl, then place it on a large plate lined with parchment paper.
Place a second walnut half (don’t dip this one in chocolate) directly on top of the chocolate dipped walnut half, then use a spoon to drizzle some melted chocolate on top.
Repeat steps 3-5 with the rest of the walnuts.
Place the plate of chocolate covered walnuts in the fridge to harden for at least 45 minutes before serving.
- Store these chocolate walnuts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
