- 6 fresh pears
- 1 1/2 cups chopped dark chocolate (or substitute any type of chocolate you prefer)
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pistachios (or substitute any type of nut or seed you prefer)
Wash and dry the pears.
Remove a small slice from the bottom of the pears so they stand up straight when placed on a flat surface.
Add the chopped dark chocolate to a pot on the stove set to low heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until the chocolate has melted, then immediately remove the pot from the heat.
Transfer the chocolate to a small bowl.
Dip one of the pears in the melted chocolate so that approximately two thirds of the pear is coated in chocolate.
Immediately sprinkle on some finely chopped pistachios (but don’t sprinkle any on the flat bottom of the pear), then place the pear, standing upright, on a large plate or sheet pan lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Repeat steps 5-6 with the rest of the pears.
Place the plate of chocolate pears in the fridge to harden for at least one hour before serving or packaging them in gift bags.
- Store these chocolate covered pears in an airtight container or cellophane gift bags in the fridge for up to three days.
