Equipment

  • High-powered blender

Ingredients

  • 2 cups roughly chopped oranges (don’t peel them!)
  • 1/2 cup room temperature water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped dark chocolate (approximately 9 oz)

Instructions

  • Add 2 cups roughly chopped oranges, 1/2 cup room temperature water, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1/4 teaspoon salt to a high-powered blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Melt 1 1/2 cups chopped dark chocolate using your preferred method:
Stovetop: Add the chopped dark chocolate to a pan over low heat. Stir constantly until just melted, then remove from the heat.
Microwave: Heat in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until melted.
  • Transfer the melted chocolate to the blender, then blend until smooth (make sure that no chunks of orange peel remain).
  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl or container, then chill for at least 1 hour, or until thickened to a mousse-like consistency.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to five days.
