This whole lemon smoothie recipe is tart, sweet, and intensely lemony. There's no zesting or juice-squeezing required since the whole lemon is roughly chopped and tossed in a blender.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole lemon
  • 3 pitted dates
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  • Roughly chop 1 whole lemon (don’t peel it) then add it to a high-powered blender.
  • Add 3 pitted dates, 2 cups cold water, 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract, and 1 pinch of sea salt to the blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Enjoy right away or store in the fridge for up to three days. Stir before serving.

Notes

  • This smoothie is ultra lemony. For a milder lemon flavor, reduce to half a lemon.
