These chocolate covered hazelnuts are quick and easy to make. They're a delicious addition to a dessert table and also make great homemade gifts for any occasion.

Equipment

  • Sheet pan or large plate
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup toasted hazelnuts
  • 1 cup chopped dark chocolate (or substitute chocolate chips or any type of chopped chocolate you prefer)
  • Optional topping: sea salt

Instructions

  • Add the chopped dark chocolate to a pot on the stove set to low heat.
  • Cook until the chocolate has melted, stirring constantly, then immediately remove the pot from the heat.
  • Add the toasted hazelnuts to the pot of melted chocolate, then gently stir, ensuring that the hazelnuts are completely coated in chocolate.
  • Use a fork to pick up 3-4 chocolate-coated hazelnuts and place them in a cluster on a sheet pan or large plate lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Immediately add a small pinch of sea salt on top, if desired.
  • Repeat steps 4-5 with the remaining hazelnuts.
  • Place the sheet pan or plate of chocolate hazelnuts in the fridge to harden for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

  • Store these chocolate covered hazelnuts in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks.
