Equipment

  • Parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup chopped dark chocolate (or substitute any type of chocolate you prefer)
  • 18 pitted prunes
  • Optional toppings: finely chopped walnuts or any type of chopped nuts or seeds you prefer

Instructions

  • Add 3/4 cup chopped dark chocolate to a pan on the stove set to low heat.
  • Cook, stirring constantly until the chocolate has melted, then immediately remove the pan from the heat.
  • Add 18 pitted prunes to the pan of melted chocolate, then gently stir until the prunes are completely coated in chocolate.
  • Use a fork to lift a prune out of the pan of melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip back into the pan, then place the chocolate coated prune on a sheet pan or large plate lined with parchment paper.
  • Immediately sprinkle on any toppings, if desired.
  • Repeat steps 4-5 with the rest of the prunes.
  • Place the sheet pan or plate of chocolate prunes in the fridge to chill for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

  • Store these treats in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks or in the freezer for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature or in the fridge before serving.
