Ingredients

  • 1 medium orange
  • 1 date (optional for added sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened milk of choice
  • 1 small pinch of sea salt (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  • Use a citrus zester or fine grater to remove about half the zest from 1 medium orange, then add the zest to a blender.
  • Peel the orange, roughly chop it, then add it to the blender.
  • Remove the pit from 1 date, then add it to the blender.
  • Add 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, 1 cup unsweetened milk of choice, 1 small pinch of sea salt, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract to the blender.
  • Blend until smooth.

Notes

  • Enjoy this smoothie right away or store it in the fridge for up to three days, then stir immediately before serving.
