- 1/4 cup tightly packed pitted dates
- 1/4 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (or substitute any type of vinegar you prefer)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 3/4 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dried ground chipotle chili pepper
Add 1/4 cup tightly packed pitted dates to a bowl, pour 1/4 cup boiling water on top, then let the dates soak for 20 minutes.
Transfer the dates and soaking liquid to a blender.
Add 1/2 cup tomato paste, 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 3/4 teaspoons salt, and 1/2 teaspoon dried ground chipotle chili pepper to the blender.
Blend until smooth.
