This lavender hot chocolate is perfect when you're in the mood for an elegant treat with a delightful flavor. It's a lovely option for bridal showers, baby showers, or even tea parties if you'd like to include a non-tea hot drink.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar (or substitute your preferred sweetener)
  • 2 tablespoons boiling water
  • 1/2 teaspoon food-grade dried lavender flowers (plus more for an optional topping)
  • 2 cups unsweetened milk of choice (I used almond milk)
  • 1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate

Instructions

  • Add 2 tablespoons cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons coconut sugar, and 2 tablespoons boiling water to a small bowl, then mix until the cocoa powder and sugar dissolve.
  • Transfer that mixture to a pot on the stove set to low-medium heat.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon food-grade dried lavender flowers and 2 cups unsweetened milk of choice to the pot, then stir frequently for 5-10 minutes or until hot.
  • Add 1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate to the pot, then stir until melted.
  • Transfer the hot chocolate to cups, then garnish with a sprinkle of dried lavender flowers, if desired.

Notes

  • Serve right away, or store this hot chocolate in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat and stir before serving.
