Ingredients

  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 teaspoon spirulina powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped apple (or substitute any type of berries or chopped fruit you prefer)
  • 1 cup unsweetened milk of choice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (or substitute 1 tablespoon cocoa powder for a chocolate version)

Instructions

  • Peel 1 medium banana, break it into pieces, then add it to a blender.
  • Add 1 teaspoon spirulina powder, 1/2 cup chopped apple, 1 cup unsweetened milk of choice, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract to the blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Enjoy this smoothie right away or store it in the fridge for up to three days, then stir immediately before serving.

Notes

  • I used green spirulina powder in this smoothie, but blue works too.
