This chocolate pineapple smoothie is creamy and delicious. The flavor combination of fresh pineapple and chocolate is totally satisfying. Give this smoothie a try if you’re looking for easy drinkable breakfast or snack ideas, like this chocolate spinach smoothie, which is another yummy option.
Ingredients and Substitutions
I like to use fresh pineapple when making this smoothie. You can use frozen chopped pineapple, or even canned if you prefer. If using canned, be sure to drain any liquid before adding the pineapple to the blender.

Cocoa powder gives this smoothie its delicious chocolate flavor. You can use either Dutch-process or natural cocoa powder. Raw cacao powder works too.
You can use any type of unsweetened milk you like in this smoothie. I went with soy milk this time.
I like to add a date to this smoothie for a little extra sweetness. You can omit the date if you prefer a lower sugar version.

How to Make a Chocolate Pineapple Smoothie
Start by removing the pit from the date, then add it to a blender. Next you’ll add the pineapple, cocoa powder, date, sea salt, and unsweetened milk to the blender.
Blend until smooth.
Enjoy this smoothie right away or store it in the fridge for up to three days, then stir immediately before serving.
