This lavender smoothie has a delightful floral flavor and aroma. This creamy, sweet smoothie is a delicious and elegant addition to a brunch menu. It would also be perfect for bridal showers or baby showers. This recipe makes one serving, but you can scale it up as needed.
Ingredients and Substitutions
Be sure to use food-grade dried lavender flowers as opposed to the kind meant for cosmetics or pot pourri. It’s often available at health food stores, but if you have trouble finding it then you can order some online.

A little goes a long way when it comes to lavender, which is why this smoothie only contains 1/4 teaspoon (plus a small extra sprinkle for a topping, if you like). Any more than that and I find the smoothie starts to taste a bit soapy or perfume-like.
I think blueberries and lavender are a perfect flavor combination, but you can substitute any other type of berry you prefer. Either fresh or frozen is fine.
I like to add a little extra sweetness to this smoothie by including one date. I prefer to use Medjool dates because they’re particularly sweet and moist, but you can use any type of date you like. Or you can substitute 1 tablespoon of maple syrup if you don’t have any dates.
How to Make a Lavender Smoothie
Start by adding the food-grade dried lavender flowers, blueberries, vanilla, and milk to a blender. Next you’ll remove the pit from the date, then add it to the blender.
Blend until smooth.
Pour the smoothie into a glass, then garnish with a small sprinkle of dried lavender flowers before serving, if desired.
