This creamy pear and banana smoothie is easy to make and delicious. The sweet, floral-like flavor of pear is balanced by the tropical vibes of banana in this yummy drink. It’s perfect for breakfast or a snack on the go.
Ingredients and Substitutions
I prefer to use a fresh pear when making this smoothie, but chopped frozen pear works too. I used a Bartlett pear this time, but any type is fine.

I like to use a very ripe banana with plenty of brown spots in this smoothie. The riper the banana, the sweeter it will be. You can use a less ripe banana if you prefer a lower sugar version of this smoothie.
Vanilla extract enhances the other flavors in this smoothie nicely. If you prefer a chocolate version, you can substitute 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder.
I like to add a small pinch of sea salt to balance the sweetness of this smoothie. You can omit it if you prefer.

How to Make a Pear and Banana Smoothie
Peel the banana, break it into pieces, then add it to a blender. Next you’ll roughly chop the pear, removing the core, then add it to the blender. Add the unsweetened milk of choice, vanilla extract, and sea salt to the blender.
Blend until smooth.
Enjoy this smoothie right away or store it in the fridge for up to three days, then stir immediately before serving.
