This nutritious salted caramel smoothie is sweetened with dates! It’s rich, creamy, and sweet, with just the right amount of saltiness to balance the flavors. Give this a try if you’re looking for drinkable treats, like this pumpkin spice fall smoothie, which is another yummy option.
Ingredients and Substitutions
I like to use Medjool dates when making this smoothie because they have a delicious caramel-like sweetness. Plus their moist texture helps them blend up nicely. You can substitute any other type of date you prefer.

A pinch of sea salt balances the sweetness of this smoothie perfectly. You can use any type of sea salt you like, or you can substitute regular table salt if you prefer.
Almond butter adds richness and has a neutral flavor which works well in this smoothie, allowing the salted caramel flavor to really come through. You can substitute any other type of nut butter or seed butter you prefer, but just be aware that some substitutes such as peanut butter might overpower the other flavors. Cashew butter would be a good neutral-flavored substitute.
I used soy milk in this smoothie. You can use any type of unsweetened milk you like.
